So this new experience was not exactly on the top of my list of things to do. I’m not really into watching MMA fighting (or doing it), but the tickets fell into my lap for free, so I figured I’d try it out and see if I enjoyed it. I don’t know much about these events, but it must have been a very low-level set of fights. It was at a local bar, but there were plenty of people there and a film crew to catch all the action. They switched back and forth between amateurs and fighters who were a little more experienced. The men with more experience were definitely more interesting to watch, but not by much. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay long enough to see the women fight, but I bet that would have been more interesting. The fighting itself was just a lot of grappling on the ground – not very exciting. It reminded me of my brother’s wrestling meets. I don’t know why I’m complaining though. I would not have enjoyed seeing more blood or harder hits. In fact, when someone got hit hard and the whole crowd was cheering, I found myself feeling bad for the guy who got hit. I guess I just don’t enjoy pugilistic entertainment. Oh well. I had a few beers and did some people watching. And I got to check one more thing of my list!
